Imperial Crowns + Dennis Herrera Blues Band

IMPERIAL CROWNS & DENNIS HERRERA BLUES BAND

One Spectacular Night with Two Dynamic Bands!

IMPERIAL CROWNS

This sensational band is as fresh as they can be! They have put their hearts and minds together to create music that is traditional - yet contemporary. Each band member has an extensive background in the rough and tumble L.A. music scene. The Imperial Crowns play a blend of garage rock, blues and vintage R&B in what some call, “The best Rock and Blues road show ever!”

Led by the charismatic Jimmie “The Dynamic” Wood (vocals, harp & guitar) a musician, singer and actor best known as the front man for the Imperial Crowns. Accompanied by JJ Holiday (vocals & slide guitar) with a big greezy sound when he plays his axe, a stone soul poet of the slide guitar who carries the delta in his back pocket. Billy Champagne Sullivan (drums) is a white Irish scrapper with the most powerful and vibrant punch out the tip of his Vic Firth 5B’s - and he doesn’t let you forget it. John Avila is the bassist and music producer, best known for being in the new wave band Oingo Boingo from 1984 to 1995, joined by Rachel C. Wood on stunning vocals.

Imperial Crowns is probably one of the most original on the planet – Have concocted a very personal musical cocktail, which they describe as a “mix of fierce blues, psyche-delta soul and pumping-funk.” Accused of resurrecting nothing less than the combined minds of Otis Redding, Captain Beefhart and Blind Lemon Jefferson, they venture internationally to the (re)conquest of Spain, Holland, France and Netherlands among others. The band is currently on their fifth album together.

For some of the heavyweights these cats have played with over their own careers, here’s the short list: Sam Moore, Bruce Springsteen, Greg Allman, Gus Cannon, Gladys Knight, P11, Freddy Hubbard, Billy Preston, Mike Ness, Bob Dylan, Taj Mahal, Cheap Trick, The Blues Brothers, Bruce Hornsby, Sunnyland Slim, Wolf Mann, Charlie Musselwhite, Freddy King, Otis Clay…

“Deemed one of the most original bands on the planet, the larger than life Imperial Crowns introduce to you their fifth album with their own special brand of music they once described as: ferocious blues, psyche-delta soul & pumpin’ funk.” - Dixiefrog Records

“At the end of all this… These 3 guys bring you the most soulful new music of our time... right now! As the saying goes… "They ain’t no heroes and they don’t wanna boast, but they kick the devil’s ass from coast to coast." - Jean-Pierre Bruneau

DENNIS HERRERA BLUES BAND

The dynamic and popular Dennis Herrera Blues Band is one of those bands that slip right into a groove and never lose it. Playing music for over 25 years has led them to broad styles of Rockin' Chicago, Texas, and traditional Juke Joint Blues! The popular music singer, songwriter and producer Dennis Herrera has the charisma and showmanship that absolutely command the audience’s attention of all ages. The second CD Livin’ Life Not Worryin’ refuses to disappoint and has made the top 40 Blues charts throughout 2015 – 2016 and on the radio and airplay all over the U.S. and Europe.

Independent and diversified Dennis Herrera (vocals & guitar) has played with some of the best artists such as Anson Funderburgh, Lynwood Slim, Tommy Castro and Igor Prado. Dennis is a silk smooth guitar player who seems far more interested in playing just the right note than a blistering run of obvious ones. Denis Depoitre from Paris performed with a string of pioneers like Kim Wilson, RJ Mischo and Mitch Kasmar and continues to effortlessly thrill the crowd with his big harp tone like no other - working his harmonic magic. Alongside, Lee Campbell’s solid brilliant drum-keeping marks the tempo and sets the rhythm. Lee from New Jersey has recorded and performed with William Clarke, James Harman, Jody Williams and Billy Boy Arnold to name a few. Rich Wenzel top notch pro keyboardist, producer and engineer playin’ polished organ chords will raise your hair follicles on end. Bill Stuve is the guest bassist who has been nominated 12 times “Bass Instrumentalist” Blues Music Awards, plus 4-time winner of “Band of the Year” w/Mighty Flyers at the Blues Music Awards. Bill has played extensively over his career with Roy Gaines, Candye Kane, William Clarke and George “Harmonic” just to name a few.

Dennis and his Blues band are not just players of the blues - they are top notch national caliber performers, and really bring it to the stage.

“Dennis’ band including Dennis Herrera vocal and guitar, Denis Depoitre harmonica, Rich Wenzel piano, organ and wurlitzer and Lee Campbell drums. All of them show how their real and genuine blues has to be played to make it sound passionate and deep rooted with no affectation or an excessively polite music. There is simple and well known electric blues but, what you want me to say, I madly love it. ESSENTIAL.” - Vicente Zumel, 2013 Keeping The Blues Alive Award International Recipient by The Blues Foundation
