NRBQ with ROSIE FLORES

NRBQ

“Their songs hold chromatic twists and wry wordplay, packed into smiley three-minute bundles. ‘High Noon’ combines a best-of with many rarities, suiting a band that’s both crafty and casual.” – The New York Times

high noon n. : The most advanced, flourishing, or creative stage or period.

NRBQ n. : An endlessly creative band on a 50-year high that continually amazes and delights its listeners.

There aren’t many bands that have lasted for 50 years, and the list of those still at the top of their creative game is even smaller. High Noon: A 50-Year Retrospective will offer a fascinating look at one of the best. Street date for the set is November 11, 2016.

Over the past half century, NRBQ has proven to be a group of peerless and unique musicians, songwriters and performers, continuing to prove it with each new album and live performance.

“NRBQ fans are both brilliant and demented. This music has introduced people who are now lifetime friends. There’s been romance, marriage and babies. We’ve seen it all. Just about everything you can think of has been said about NRBQ and it’s all true…all of the good, all the bad and all of the in between."

ROSIE FLORES

Alternative country meets the rockabilly revival meets California guitar virtuosity in the music of Rosie Flores. Since the late '70s, guitarist, singer, and songwriter Rosie Flores has been an important figure on the alternative country scene in both Austin, TX, and Los Angeles. She's a hard-working, independently minded artist who's well-respected for her gritty, energetic vocals and fiery guitar solos. Prolifically creative, Flores deserves to be numbered among the creators of the alternative country movement. Her career, never flagging, has outlasted those of a host of other acts in that fast-moving genre.

Be prepared to hear cuts from her new blues album coming out this summer when she opens with NRBQ for this special showcase of two roots legends.
